King’s Birthday Public Holiday Hours
MUSAC will be closed on Monday 8 June 2026 for the King’s Birthday Public Holiday.
No programs or classes will operate on this day.
The centre will reopen and return to normal operating hours from 5:30am on Tuesday 9 June 2026.
We wish all members a safe and enjoyable long weekend.
Bring a Friend for Free Returns This June
Bring a Friend for Free is back throughout June.
There’s no limit to the number of friends you can bring along, so whether it’s a gym session, swim, or class, now’s the perfect time to introduce someone to MUSAC.
Friends will receive access aligned to the membership inclusions of the member bringing them along. That means if your membership includes gym, pools, Group Fitness or Reformer Pilates, your friend can enjoy those spaces and classes with you too.
The only condition is that friends must attend alongside an active member.
For more information, speak to the front desk on your next visit.
New Member Benefit: 10% Off Physiotherapy Sessions
We’re excited to introduce a new benefit available to all MUSAC members.
As part of strengthening partnerships across Campus services, MUSAC members can now receive 10% off physiotherapy appointments at Macquarie University Health Physiotherapy Clinic by simply showing proof of membership at the time of their session.
Whether you’re managing an injury, improving mobility, recovering from training, or looking for support to keep moving at your best, this new partnership helps make professional physiotherapy support more accessible for our community.
It’s another way we’re continuing to support member health and wellbeing both inside and outside the gym.
Introducing Quiet Hour at MUSAC
MUSAC is now trialling Quiet Hour, a dedicated low-sensory time designed to support accessibility, inclusion and comfort for all members.
Busy gym environments can sometimes feel overwhelming for people with sensory sensitivities, disability, anxiety or who are neurodivergent. Quiet Hour aims to create a calmer and more welcoming environment by reducing noise and visual stimulation throughout the gym.
During Quiet Hour:
- Gym music and lighting are reduced
- Reception phone volumes are lowered
- PA announcements are paused where possible
We also kindly ask members to help support the environment by minimising loud conversations and avoiding dropping weights where possible during this time.
Quiet Hour currently runs:
- Wednesdays, 9:00am–10:00am
- Fridays, 9:00am–10:00am
Quiet Hour is open to everyone and reflects MUSAC’s ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of our community.

Help Shape a Macquarie University Research Project
Are you a regular lap swimmer at our centre? Your experience and insights could help contribute to an exciting Macquarie University research project.
Clementine Monet, a Macquarie University student, is currently conducting an Anthropology Ethnographic Project exploring how and why people swim in outdoor pools and is looking to hear from swimmers within our community.
There are two ways to get involved:
- Participate in a short 15-minute interview
Email: clementine.monet@students.mq.edu.au
Participation is completely voluntary and all responses will remain anonymous within the final research project.
It’s a great opportunity to contribute to real academic research while helping share the experiences and perspectives that make our swimming community unique.
As always, if you have any feedback for us, we would love to receive it – the good, the bad and the ugly.
If you have a submission you’d like to make about how we can improve our facility or our services, feel free to share via the online feedback form.
And don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
Yours in health and fitness,
Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre Team
