Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) would like to notify members the N3 car park will close from 4pm on Saturday 17 September to facilitate the return of the Astronomy Open Night.

To ensure the best opportunity for night sky observation, the outdoor 50m pool floodlights will be turned off and the pool will be closed from 5:30pm. The indoor 25m pool will still be available for lap swimming.

After a two-year hiatus, Astronomy Open Night is back and bigger than ever – and we’d like to extend an invitation to all MUSAC members to explore the Universe like never before!

Bring the entire family along for an evening that will entertain and educate, stimulating the most inquisitive of minds (both young and old). The night will include:

Bring your junior scientists along to the Kids’ Space - a fun-packed area set-up with interesting, informative mini experiments and scientific activities for the little ones.

You won’t want to miss seeing the Laser Guide Star, a powerful tool used by astronomers to see the Universe more clearly. Don’t forget to visit our Exhibition Hall, full of fun and exciting stalls from the local astronomical community, where you can chat about astronomy, science and much more!

The Astronomy Open Night will go ahead rain, hail, or shine, and our food & beverage hub located at 1 Campus Common (just off Wally’s Walk) will be open. UBar is a family friendly licenced venue serving incredible wood fired pizzas. You can choose from burgers, sushi, kebabs, Mexican and many more cuisines! There’s plenty of seating available in the area to sit and enjoy a meal or refreshments before or during the event.

Tickets are limited and only available until sold out so don’t delay. No ticket sales are available on the night.
