King's Birthday Public Holiday Notice

MUSAC will observe the King’s Birthday Public Holiday and close on Monday 9th June 2025. No programs or classes will run on this day.

MUSAC will re-open and return to regular operations at 5:30am on Tuesday 10th June 2025.

We wish all our members a safe and happy long weekend.

Reform and Ride

Reform & Ride is landing at MUSAC on the weekend of May 10 and 11 — a two-day event that’s all about discovering something new and re-energising your routine.

We’re inviting everyone — members, non-members, first-timers, and long-time fans to join us for a weekend of movement that’s short, sharp, seriously fun and FREE for everyone.

With 30-minute taster sessions in Reformer Pilates, RPM, and Cycle, it’s a chance to explore new formats in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

These express sessions are designed to give you just enough of a feel for each class without the full commitment. Reformer Pilates will focus on controlled movement, flexibility, and core strength, while RPM and Cycle deliver a cardio hit through rhythm-based rides and freestyle endurance challenges.

It’s a great way to sample something different — and even better when shared. We’re encouraging members to bring a friend along for the ride. Whether they’re completely new to the gym or just haven’t tried these formats before, it’s the perfect opportunity to get moving together.

A modified timetable will be in place over the weekend to accommodate the event. Come along, bring a mate, and experience why this is definitely not your normal R&R.

Swim It Forward at MUSAC

Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC) is joining forces with Swim Australia in 2025 to support Swim it Forward, an initiative aimed at helping more Australian children access life-saving swimming lessons.

Each year, an average of ten children aged 5 to 14 drown in preventable incidents, according to a 10-year review by Royal Life Saving Australia. The program aims to address this by providing financial assistance to families who would otherwise be unable to afford swimming lessons.

For $25, donors can fund a single lesson for a child, offering a critical first step toward water confidence and safety.

One family who knows the value of this support is Brittany’s. In late 2024, the mother of two received funding from Swim it Forward to enrol her children at MUSAC.

“Thanks to Swim it Forward, my children are building vital skills in water familiarity, breathing and water safety,” she said. “Their confidence has been blossoming with the gentle patience of their instructors.”

Swim it Forward seeks to close the gap between those who can access water safety education and those who can’t. With MUSAC’s involvement, more children in the local community will now have that opportunity.

To support the initiative, visit the MUSAC Swim it Forward page and donate today.

UniSport Nationals Trials

Throughout May, Macquarie University Sport will be running trials for the upcoming UniSport Nationals. These trials give our student athletes the opportunity to represent Macquarie on a national level.

As a result, you may notice limited availability in the Sports Hall and Rec Hall, and increased traffic in the centre, particularly between 6:00am and 9:00am.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we support this important part of university sport.
