Daylight Saving Social Sport Registrations Close Soon
Registrations are now open for our Daylight Saving Social Sport Competition, a nine-week season commencing the week of Monday 12 October 2026.
Whether you’re returning with your current team or joining the competition for the first time, now is the perfect opportunity to secure your place. Register now and enjoy another season of social sport, friendly competition and campus community connections.
The new season follows a hugely successful Semester 2 competition, with 105 teams participating across seven competitions. As we approach the final weeks, we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the outstanding level of participation, sportsmanship and community spirit throughout the semester.
Grand Final action is just around the corner, and we look forward to celebrating our champions and recognising the efforts of every team.
Learn to Swim Reminder: Help Keep Our Pool Open for Lessons
To help our Learn to Swim classes run smoothly, we ask families to take a few simple steps to prevent unexpected pool closures.
Vomiting or faecal accidents require the pool to close for cleaning, which can result in missed lessons across multiple programs.
Please ensure children do not eat during the 30 minutes immediately before their lesson. If possible, encourage them to enjoy a snack after swimming instead.
Helpful ways to prevent pool closures
- Keep unwell children at home: If your child has been sick, please wait at least 24–48 hours before returning to lessons.
- Visit the bathroom before class: Encourage your child to use the toilet before entering the pool.
- Wear appropriate swimwear: Children who are not yet toilet trained must wear a well-fitted swim nappy.
- Stay alert during lessons: If your child needs the bathroom, please act quickly and notify a staff member.
Food and nutrition guidance
Avoid high-fibre foods, greasy or fried food, spicy food and dairy before lessons, as these may cause discomfort, bloating or nausea in the water.
Keep meals small, simple and familiar:
- One to two hours before: Offer a small, light meal such as toast with peanut butter, a small sandwich or oatmeal.
- Thirty to 60 minutes before: Offer a light snack if needed, such as a banana, raisins, apple puree or rice crackers.
- Immediately before: Do not provide food.
- Drinks: Avoid milk, juice boxes and flavoured drinks immediately before the lesson.
Offer water about an hour before the lesson, while avoiding large drinks during the final 30 minutes. We also recommend bringing a water bottle for after the lesson.
These small steps make a meaningful difference in keeping our pool clean, safe and open for everyone’s lessons. Thank you for your cooperation.
Use of Smart Glasses at MUSAC
As smart glasses and other wearable technologies become more common, we would like to remind members of MUSAC’s Conditions of Entry.

Smart glasses and other wearable technologies must not be used as recording devices at MUSAC. Unauthorised use may result in a ban from the centre and/or the cancellation of membership.
Please speak with a staff member if you have any questions or concerns.
