Touch football

Touch football is a variant of rugby league with a variation of defenders making a touch, instead of a tackle, to constitute a play. The aim of the game is to place the football, in a controlled manner, over the opponent's goal line within the six-plays provided to the attacking team. Failure to score or to control the ball results in a turnover of possession.

Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separate by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. To score points, the serving team attempts to hit the ball over the net and into the floor of their opponents space, while the receiving team attempts to prevent the ball from being grounded within their court. Volleyball competitions are hosted in the Recreational Hall of MUSAC.

Competition seasons

Competitions run year-round (some sports are seasonal):

  • Summer — January to February
  • Session 1 — March to June
  • Session 2 — July to October
  • Daylight Savings — October to December

Teams cannot choose game times. Draws will be selected at random.

Prior to the game

All teams are required to sign in with the on-site casual sport administrator before their scheduled game each night

During inclement weather, the competition administrative staff or official at the site can cancel games. We will make every reasonable effort to inform teams of cancellations, such as utilising e-mail or the website.

In some cases, we will call team captains, though due to the number of teams playing per night this is not always possible. It is a team captain's responsibility to let their team members know of the cancellations.

Do not assume the game will be cancelled. Outdoor competitions allow one extra week for wet-weather games if games are cancelled during the regular season. Other cancelled games will not be rescheduled and will result in a draw.
