Group Fitness Events

Our Group Fitness Team will host two upcoming Zumba in the coming week.

Thursday 31st March 2022 will be the final Mardi Gras themed event, celebrating International Transgender Day of Visibility, with a 90-minute Zumba class hosted by multiple instructors within the Poolside Studio.

The theme is “Loud and Proud: Celebrating who you are”, and we encourage all participants to dress up in their favourite colours and glitter.

You can stay for 45 minutes, 60 minutes or for the entire 90 minutes – it’s up to you!

The class will start at 7:30pm and run until 9pm. We look forward to seeing you all there!

Monday 4th April 2022 is an open invitation to Macquarie University Students and Staff to participate in a mass Zumba event in the Central Courtyard.

Nationally recognized and Reebok-sponsored Group Fitness Instructor, Anna Biddiscombe, will host the outdoor event – which starts at 1pm.

It is free to join, however registrations are required and can be done so online here.

Parking Reminder

A kind reminder that the North 3 Car Park is available to members for parking.

We encourage members, especially parents and guardians of those enrolled in Children’s Programs classes to utilize this car park for easy access and a shorter walk to the centre.

Some new signage has been recently installed at the entry point to the North 3 carpark to highlight this accessibility to members.

2-hours free parking is available to all members of Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre.

To access the discounted parking rates and avoid fines, please make sure you register your vehicle(s) by completing the parking registration form and download the CellOPark app or use one of the parking machines located inside the main foyer of the Sport and Aquatic Centre.

To activate your two-hours free, you must start your parking session using the CellOPark app or by entering your vehicle registration at the parking meters located inside the main foyer of the centre. Our parking system only recognizes 'activated sessions'. You will be required to initiate an activated session each time you visit the centre to claim your two-hours free each time you park within the centre car park.

Tertiary Lifeblood Challenge

Members of MUSAC team are competing against other Sydney universities in the Tertiary Lifeblood Challenge to donate blood.

Lifeblood Teams brings people together to save lives — they’re made up of people, like you, who care about what’s happening in the world. Some donate together, others support the Team by donating on their own. Either way, they’re transforming the lives of thousands of Australians.

People like cancer patients, who depend on blood in their time of need. Whether it’s to keep them healthy enough for treatment, to get them through a tough surgery, or to compensate for the effects of chemotherapy, donated blood can make a life-saving difference.

Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre Lifeblood Team is making a big difference — and you can too. Join your university or TAFE Lifeblood Team through the Donate Blood app for the chance to win one of ten $100 Visa gift cards and change lives. It’s a win-win. https://app.donateblood.com.au/DuC6

As always, if you have any feedback for us, we would love to receive it – the good, the bad and the ugly. If you have a submission you’d like to make about how we can improve our facility or our services, feel free to share via the online enquiry form.

Yours in health and fitness,
