To support you during this time, we encourage you to continue engaging with our range of activities, designed to complement your Ramadan schedule and help you stay active in a way that respects this holy period.

Join us for evening and early morning workouts that fit  around your fasting hours, allowing you to hydrate and nourish before and after participating. Gentle walks, refreshing swims, leisurely cycling, and relaxing yoga and Pilates classes are perfect for keeping your body moving and your spirit uplifted in a community setting.

We recognise that nutrition and hydration during this time are important and encourage those observing Ramadan to aim for balanced, nutritious meals and adequate water intake during non-fasting hours to ensure you're energized and hydrated for whatever activities you choose to partake in at our centre.

Listening to your body is crucial, and we're here to support you in adjusting your activity levels to suit your needs throughout the month. There's no need to pause your fitness journey during Ramadan; rather, it's a time to adapt and embrace a holistic approach to well-being.

By maintaining your membership and staying connected with our community, you ensure continuous access to our facilities and the chance to share this meaningful time with others. Ramadan is a perfect moment to reflect, connect, and grow together.

International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (IWD) is observed annually on 8th March to promote and celebrate women’s equality. This year the theme for IWD is Inspire Inclusion.

This theme is particularly relevant in the sporting landscape as we have seen, from our Matilda’s and other women’s sporting teams, how important it is for women and girls to be included and represented in all kinds of sport all over the world.

Macquarie University is proud to have some incredible female athlete alumni including Maddy Proud (Netball), Jakiya Whitfeld (Rugby League), Julie Charlton (Shotput) and Dominique Du Toit (Rugby 7s). Staff from MUSAC will be attending a panel discussion, celebrating women in sport, led by Macquarie University female athletes and leaders changing the landscape, on inspiring inclusion and challenging gender bias.

How will you be Inspiring Inclusion this International Women’s Day?

Safety Notice

We have recently observed the accumulation of water in the foyer and on the stairs due to patrons entering from the pools and proceeding to the Level 1 change rooms while still wet. This poses a safety risk, increasing the likelihood of slips throughout the facility.

In order to ensure the safety of all patrons, we kindly request that you use a towel to dry off before leaving the pool area and consider utilising the Level 2 changerooms, conveniently located near both the Indoor 25m pool and Outdoor 50m pool.

In the case of Level 2 changeroom closure, please dry off completely before making your way to the Level 1 changerooms.

We thank you for your assistance in keeping our facility safe for all.

Photography and videography Policy

A reminder to members and patrons that photography and videography (including Video Chat) is strictly prohibited throughout the centre.

Under no circumstances should a patron take a photo or video of another patron in change rooms, the pools, the Sports Hall or Rec Hall, the Gymnastics Hall or in the Health Club.

This also applies to parents taking photos of their children in Learn to Swim or Gymnastics classes.

We thank you for your consideration of other patrons and thank you for helping to create a safe space for all.

Macquarie University Rugby Club

Macquarie University Rugby Football Club (MURFC) is the oldest sporting club at Macquarie University. Established in 1967 and currently competing in the NSW Suburban Rugby Competition, in 2024 we will be fielding a Men’s senior, colts and Women’s 7’s sides.

Based at the university sports fields we are fortunate to have access to some of the best fields and facilities in the Sydney Suburban Rugby competition.

Whilst rugby is the main attraction we also promote a healthy social calendar at the club, while Rugby is the reason for the club, the culture is what makes the club a family.

For more information about playing rugby at Macquarie, visit www.macrugby.com.au.

As always, if you have feedback for us, we would love to receive it – the good, the bad and the ugly.

If you have a submission you’d like to make about how we can improve our facility or our services, feel free to share via the online feedback form.

And don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates.

Yours in health and fitness,
