National Day of Mourning Public Holiday

Following the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, the Prime Minister has announced that the National Day of Mourning on Thursday 22 September will be recognized as a National public holiday.

Macquarie University will close for the public holiday, as will Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre (MUSAC).

The centre will re-open Friday 23 September at 5:30am with regular scheduled classes and programs returning.

We look forward to welcoming all members, patrons, and guests back to MUSAC on Friday 23.


Labour Day Public Holiday

A friendly reminder to members and patrons that MUSAC will be closed on the Labour Day Public Holiday, falling Monday 3 October 2022.

The centre will re-open Tuesday 4 October at 5:30am with regular scheduled classes and programs returning.


Upcoming Social Sport Competitions

MUSAC will open registrations Friday 23 September for its next Social Sport Competitions, commencing Monday October 10, 2022.

Both team and individual spots are available across a multitude of sports, with spots available until  5pm on October 6, when registrations close or sold prior.

This competition includes exciting new additions, including Men’s and Women’s 7-a-side Football on Thursday’s and Men’s Basketball on Fridays:

  • Monday Mixed Netball - Open to Teams and Individuals
  • Tuesday Mixed Netball - Open to Teams and Individuals
  • Tuesday Mixed 7-a-side Soccer - Open to Teams and Individuals
  • Wednesday Mixed Volleyball - Open to Teams only
  • Wednesday Touch Football - Open to Teams and Individuals
  • Thursday Men’s 7-a-side Soccer - Open to Teams and Individuals
  • Thursday Women’s 7-a-side Soccer - Open to Teams and Individuals
  • Friday Mixed Basketball - Open to Teams and Individuals
  • Friday Men’s Basketball - Open to Teams and Individuals

Members Competition

A reminder to all members that if you attend 12 times or more between July 1 – September 30, 2022, you will automatically go into the draw to win one of three prizes, based on your membership type:

  • Gold members - $500 Endota Spa voucher
  • Fitness members - $250 Lachlan’s Restaurant voucher and Gym Towel
  • Aquatic members - $50 UBar voucher and Sports Towel

Please ensure you have scanned through the centre access gates so all your attendances are captured. Do this a minimum of 12 times and you’ll be automatically entered into the draw, with the lucky winners notified Tuesday 4th October 2022. The more times you visit, the more chances you have to win!

It’s just another way of celebrating you for prioritizing your health and fitness, especially across the winter months.

Food and Nutrition Seminar

Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre are inviting you to attend our FREE special members diet and nutrition seminars on Tuesday 25th October.

Delivered by accredited Sports Dietitian, Ali Ghacham, you’ll have the option of attending one or both seminars:

  • How to lose weight and keep it off – 11:15am in the Courtyard Studio – run time 45-60-minutes
  • How to lose weight and keep it off – 1pm in the Courtyard Studio – run time 45-60-minutes

Swim Safe Program

The Swim Safe Program returns to MUSAC late September and is open to students who are new to Australia and want to learn about water safety to enjoy Australian waters.

Facilitated by our trained Swim School staff, the goal of this program is to help international students develop not only knowledge, but confidence in Australian waters.

The course has both theory and practical components to help students learn basic swimming skills and water safety knowledge in time for Summer.

Bookings are required, so please fill in the form below to request a spot.

  • Duration - 5-week program (1 day per week)
  • Cost: $10 - payable upon online enrolment
  • Includes -  basic swimming skills and water safety knowledge that are essential in or around Australia's waterways.
