Labour Day Public Holiday
A friendly reminder to members and patrons that MUSAC will be closed on the Labour Day Public Holiday, falling on Monday, 2nd October 2022.
The centre will re-open Tuesday, 3rd October at 5:30am with regular scheduled classes and programs returning.
Kettlebell Workshop
Looking for a change in your training while maintaining the full body benefits? Kettlebell training could be for you!
Our brand new 6-week Kettlebell Workshop will be facilitated by MUSAC trainer, Joel, who has competitive experience and a keen interest in Kettlebell training.
Members can choose between Wednesday evening sessions OR Friday morning sessions, beginning 4th October 2023. Over the course of six weeks, Joel will help members master the fundamentals of kettlebell training, progressing from basic exercises to complex techniques and flows.

Monthly member challenge
Here at MUSAC, we’re all for trying new things and challenging ourselves in the process! We invite you to take part in our monthly challenges in the Health Club so that you can try something new and push yourself to new heights.
Each month we will have a new challenge posted in the Health Club alongside our challenge board. Go up against your mates or just try to beat the top score! We can’t wait to see your name on the board.

Kid’s Night In
Kids Night In is back, with a spooky twist!
Our Halloween themed Kid’s Night will be held from 6-9pm on Friday, 27th October 2023. Join us for some pizza and Gymnastics fun followed by a Halloween movie and popcorn. We encourage children to wear their best Halloween dress-ups, with prizes for best dressed!
This time we have something in it for parents too. Parents whose children are booked in for Kids Night In will receive a 50% voucher for pizzas at Ubar – for one night only!
Bookings will open Monday, 25th September 2023.
Water Safety Week
With summer fast approaching, we will all be spending more time in and around the water. During Water Safety Week - Monday, 18th September – Sunday, 24th September 2023 - our Learn to Swim classes will focus on the importance of being prepared and safe around water.
Students will wear old clothes or pyjamas over their swimwear during regular lessons and simulate a range of scenarios to understand how to be safe around the water.
For more information, speak to your child’s Learn to Swim instructor or a supervisor on pool deck.
Make-up lesson expiry reminder
A friendly reminder that any unused make-up lessons will expire on 17th December 2023. To avoid missing out, please ensure make-up lessons are booked prior to this date. Make-up lessons cannot be accrued to 2024 or transferred to another enrolment or program.
Spring School Holiday Programs
Spring into school holidays with our children’s school holiday programs - now open for booking.
With limited spaces left in our Gymnastics and Squads school holiday programs, now is a perfect time to book in to avoid missing out. Our holiday programs will run from Monday, 25th September – Friday, 6th October (excluding Monday, 2nd October) with a range of activities.

Daylight Savings Social Competition
As the weather warms up and the days get longer, now is the perfect time to get back into Social Sport at MUSAC. Registration for our Daylight Savings Social Competitions will open on Monday, September 25th, 2023.
The 7-week competition commences on Monday, 30th October and will run for the following sports:
- Monday Night Mixed Netball
- Tuesday Night Mixed Netball
- Tuesday Night Mixed Touch Football
- Wednesday Night Mixed 7-a-side Football
- Wednesday Night Mixed Volleyball
- Friday Night Mixed Basketball

Squads Come N Try Day
MUSAC will be hosting a ‘Come ‘N’ Try’ Day on Sunday, 8th October to give our budding young swimmers a chance to experience competitive swimming. Participants will be able to register for up to 3 events, ranging from 25m to 400m across all four strokes.
The ‘Come ‘N’ Try’ event is open to all swimmers in Seal level and above and registration must be completed online. Coaches will be contacting eligible swimmers via email, if you have questions, please speak to your Squads coaches directly.
RPM Cycle Competition
To celebrate 25 years and 100 releases of Les Mills RPM, our Group Fitness team will be running a competition for you to win some sweet prizes. The competition will run from Monday, 30th October – Sunday, 10th December 2023.
Simply attend 2 or more RPM classes per week (or 12 RPM classes total across the 6 weeks) to go into the draw to win. Stay tuned to find out what you could win!
Bookings are essential to ensure your entry is counted. The competition is open to Gold and Fitness members only.

Quarter 3 Members Competition
It’s that time again! Quarter 3 is coming to an end, but you still have time to get your visits up before the 30 September. To be entered into the draw to win some exciting prizes, visit the centre at least 12 times between 1st July and 30th September 2023.
The more times you visit, the more chances you have to win!
It’s our way of celebrating you for prioritizing your health and fitness, all year round.

FSE Astronomy Open Night
The Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) with be holding an Astronomy Open Night on Saturday, 23rd September 2023.
To reduce light pollution, the Outdoor 50m Pool will be closing and the lights turned off at 4:45pm and the North 3 Carpark will be closed from 3pm. Please ensure you have exited the carpark before its closure.
To facilitate a planetarium exhibition, the Recreation Hall will be unavailable for booking from 3pm.
Normal operations will resume at 6am on Sunday 24th September 2023.
Science Experience at Macquarie
The Science Experience is happening here at Macquarie University, from 4th - 6th October. It is a wonderful opportunity for Year 9 and 10 students to meet passionate scientists at a career speed dating session and get hands-on with STEM at the expo. You can participate in a chemistry magic show, learn more about our solar system and the world beyond earth, explore Indigenous science and technology, and learn about sustainable use of natural resources, and much more!
